Flights Of Fancy by JBW Designs

The lovely birds in Flights of Fancy were part of a large antique sampler that was purchased this past year. The sampler is Italian and was stitched in the early 1800’s on a 40 ct linen in silk. The adaptation was stitched on a 36 ct French Vanilla linen from R & R,  using a variety of Classic Colorworks and Weeks Dye Works flosses. DMC equivalents are listed also. The colours are a lovely combination of aquas, greens, and golds.

The stitch count is 144 W x 107 H and the finished size is 8″ x 6″ on a 36 ct fabric.

As an adaptation, Judy stitched one of the birds and mounted it on a round scalloped tag from The Bee Company.
